Mid-life can be a time to reset, and put yourself on a path that brings more joy.

The middle season of life often brings a kind of “How did I get here?” feeling. You feel unsettled, wrestling with choices you’ve made in the past, and less-than-fulfilled in your relationships. There can be anxiety, too--about your changing body, how you're perceived by other people, about whether getting older just means settling for less. The question lingers: “Is this it?”

But self-creation is a life-long process and, if we let it, mid-life can be a time of discovery and renewal.

In therapy, I will help you:

  • Understand how feelings of regret about past decisions can help you make choices now that are more aligned with what you value.

  • Recognize how even the most challenging life experiences have given you skills and strengths that can benefit you now.

  • Rediscover (or explore for the first time!) the parts of you that were eclipsed by meeting life’s demands or other people’s expectations.

  • Learn how awareness of the passing of time can actually bring clarity about what’s most important to you, and point you toward a path that brings joy and meaning.
